This course will enable you to develop your key knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to the subject of mental health. It will encourage you to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically. You will also develop your transferable skills in communication, planning, presentation and research skills.
The course consists of the following mandatory units:
- F400: Fundamentals of mental health and the individual
- F401: Mental health, wellbeing and society
- F402: Supporting and promoting mental health and wellbeing in organisations
- F403: Community-based support for mental health and wellbeing
One additional unit is also be studied from the following (To be confirmed):
- F404: Supporting mental health and wellbeing with physical activity
- F405: Supporting mental health and wellbeing with outdoor and creative activities
Assessment
Course assessment is as follows:
- F400: Fundamentals of mental health and the individual -1 hour 45 minute written exam
- F401: Mental health, wellbeing and society -1 hour 15 minute written exam
- F402: Supporting and promoting mental health and wellbeing in organisations -Internally assessed assignment comprising of three practical tasks (coursework)
- F403: Community-based support for mental health and wellbeing - Internally assessed assignment comprising of two practical tasks (coursework)
And one of the following (To be confirmed):
- F404: Supporting mental health and wellbeing with physical activity
- F405: Supporting mental health and wellbeing with outdoor and creative activities
Both are internally assessed assignments with three practical tasks
